Changes in the world of work in the last few
decades have markedly affected questions regarding occupational safety and
health. The changing and diverse workforce presents new challenge to protect
the worker's safety and health and priorities are redefined. Thus,
unprecedented volume of research and knowledge concerning risk management in
general and the control of public and workplace risks in particular are of
utmost important. The need to keep abreast of new and fast changing
technologies together with societal concerns about the acceptable level of risk
in work activities are the key drivers for new research.
The Scientific Conference on Occupational
Safety and Health (Sci-COSH) 2011aims to bring together all OSH professionals
and researcher for networking, education and knowledge sharing and served as a
venue where the current and ongoing research in OSH Malaysia can be shared and
the future OSH research needs can be identified and planned. It is hoped that
the knowledge can be translated into a massive compendium of regional and
national regulatory frameworks, as well as technical standards, guidelines,
training manuals and practical information covering all the different aspects
of occupational safety and health (OSH) for all branches of economic activity.
